Facebook – Hacker Cup 2020

Clive partnered with Facebook to draw a larger, more engaged audience than ever before to their 9th annual Hacker Cup and bring the live awards ceremony to the virtual world for the first time.

Each year, Facebook’s Hacker Cup gives developers an opportunity to compete in multiple rounds for a chance to take place in a VIP experience; putting them in the limelight. In a virtual world this is no easy feat! So Clive set about delivering a pre-event engagement campaign and a live virtual awards presentation, along with providing full creative and production management.

The virtual experience saw over 1,300 viewers tune in to the live stream and has since reached over 100,000 profiles, with 1,800 organic engagements.

Working closely with Facebook, our designers helped to create the new, cohesive brand identity to unify the virtual event, Facebook’s wider brand update and this being the first ever all-virtual Hacker Cup. To build excitement online, while showcasing the refreshed brand and 25x finalists; motion graphics and pre-recorded teaser videos were teased across Facebook’s event channels.

Working in a tight 15 minute window following the hack challenge, the results were collated and presented in a 25 minute live results show which Clive produced and delivered over Facebook Live. Bringing additional audience engagement into the show, the top five finalists were brought onto screen where they were presented with their prizes, and topped and tailed with motion graphics and transitions.

The virtual event saw over 1,300 viewers tune in for the live stream and has since reached over 100,000 profiles, with 1,800 organic engagements.

More than a brand experience agency, we help companies communicate, motivate, engage and express their brand personality.
