Facebook Boost your Business Dublin Event & European Tour

Facebook wanted to reach out to a new audience of small to medium sized businesses in Ireland to educate them on how to grow using their platforms.

More than 50 million businesses around the world have a presence on Facebook, allowing them to reach the 2 billion people who visit the social network each month to share and connect with the people, places and local businesses that matter to them.

The Boost Your Business events educated small to medium sized business owners and marketers on the power of Facebook and Instagram. Over the course of the day, delegates learnt from other businesses that have leveraged digital solutions like Facebook to connect with new customers, grow awareness of their brand, drive new sales and see their business flourish.

When it came to the live event, we devised an inspiring environment that felt welcoming and approachable, whilst bringing to life the theme of growth and small business/start-up culture.

Clive’s first task was to find the perfect venue to inspire the audience and bring Facebook’s message to life. For a brand that’s known for its creative and HACK culture, we knew that not just any old venue would do. With the need for a large plenary room for 400, plus three break-out areas, a marketplace, experiential zones and various activations – the venue had to be just right. In the end, the elegant Royal Hospital of Kilmainham fit the bill. As one of the finest 17th century buildings in all of Ireland, the style is based on Les Invalides in Paris with a formal facade and a large courtyard.

With the venue taken care of, Clive designed and produced an inspiring environment that brought the message of growth and start-up culture to life. The market-place concept was a modular solution – built almost entirely out of white-washed fruit crates highlighted in blues and greens with organic foliage, it perfectly conveyed the grassroots theme. Light boxes with vinyls were also used to bring the brand and key messages to life.

We also created a dedicated Instagram zone where delegates could be inspired by beautiful imagery and learn best practices for creating a visual diary of their brand story. For this, we built a tactile and vintage looking structure, which consisted of spinning wooden blocks printed with stunning Instagram imagery to form an entrance to the lounge. Delegates passed under a neon Instagram sign before entering the lounge to experience a bespoke coffee bar, gallery and photography workshops.

Clive teamed up with live printing specialists, YR Live to bring some serious interaction to the event. The live printing zone allowed delegates to create their own personalised tote bags and t-shirts, designed with their logo, design or photograph.

Following the success of the first event in Dublin, the Boost Your Business format began a mighty tour visiting 10 European cities. Subsequently, the website was translated into 9 different languages and a mammoth venue search began. Our search took us from Dublin to Rome, Stockholm to Utrecht and many cities in-between, we secured unusual and inspiring venues such as Railway Museums, Dockyards and Russian Forts. One space even had its own private beach.

The Tour helped Facebook engage an audience of almost 8000 new customers and we’ve since helped them with an additional UK version of the tour as well as events in Bratislava and Madrid.
